Building True Health From the Inside Out
Charles R Myers | SEP 29, 2025
When most people think of “health,” they picture gym memberships or green smoothies. But real health is deeper — it’s the sum of the small, intentional actions you choose every day to support your body, mind and energy.
Here’s what my own health practice looks like, and how you can use these ideas to create your own foundation of wellbeing:
I make movement a non-negotiable. Exercising three to four times a week keeps my body strong, my mind clear, and my energy flowing.
Daily stretching isn’t just for flexibility; it’s a chance to check in with yourself, release tension, and reconnect to your breath.
Food is fuel, but it’s also a relationship. I aim to eat in a way that nourishes rather than punishes — balanced meals, mindful eating, and no guilt.
I avoid alcohol and other substances as much as possible. It’s amazing how much clearer, calmer and more vibrant you feel when your body isn’t processing unnecessary toxins.
Just as you shower your body, cleanse your energy. I clear my energy daily with practices like Reiki, breathwork or simply spending time in nature.
My self-care isn’t an occasional treat; it’s a routine. Small rituals — journaling, a warm bath, mindful breathing — keep me centred and grounded.
At least 10 minutes a day, I sit in silence. It’s a reset button for my nervous system and a powerful way to build inner strength.
Sleep is the cornerstone of health. I follow a consistent sleep routine without relying on medications or substances so my body can truly restore itself.
Finally, I keep up with annual check-ups at the doctor and dentist. Preventative care is an act of self-respect.
